As a personal chef, Chef Sorangel has been sharing her love and knowledge of Puerto Rican cuisine for over 10 years, it’s wonderful to see how the power of food can bring people together and create cherished memories. Growing up in Puerto Rico, Chef Sorangel's grandma taught her to cook with sofrito, enjoy the flavors of tropical fruits like plantains and coconuts, and (of course) the art of making Puerto Rican empanadas.
Over the years, she has been experimenting with modern twists on classic recipes, incorporating new ingredients and techniques to create unique and delicious dishes. "When I cook, I’m sharing a piece of Puerto Rican history and culture".

The teacher, setting, equipment was great and the empanadas we made were tasty, just wish we could have made more! Even if it was just more of the same fillings, only two empanadas was pretty light.
