
Chef Janie, originally from Mississippi by way of Illinois, developed her love for cooking by spending time in the kitchen with her mother and grandmother. Watching them prepare family feasts is where she gained most of her knowledge and skills. Chef Janie started baking at the age of 15, beginning with simple treats like cookies, which quickly became popular in high school. Her "Janie's Cookies" were so well-loved that both teachers and students sought her out for them.
After high school, Janie pursued a degree in Culinary Science at Mississippi University for Women, graduating in 2019. Unsure of her next steps after graduation, she decided to start her own online bakery from her two-bedroom apartment. Today, she is a Contractor Chef who travels frequently and runs a successful specialty cake and treat business.
