Chef Jennifer's passion is cooking authentic regional cuisine with a room full of newfound friends. Her culinary career started at a young age by peeking over the counter to watch her grandmother make the most amazing huckleberry pies in Cherokee County, Oklahoma. This love of food and culture brought her to The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY to study Culinary Arts. She moved to Houston to pursue her Bachelor’s from the Hilton School of Hotel and Restaurant Management at The University of Houston. After her formal education, she spent ten years in the industry as a manager and food service director, but she knew her heart was in sharing the love of food with others in the classroom. This will be her 12th year teaching culinary education in high school and college. She looks forward to making food memories with you all very soon.

This was such a fun class. I enjoyed teamwork with my coworkers and my macarons were literally blown away. haha my partner and my batter was a little thin. Combine that with the extra humidity from the rain and we needed a little more time for the skin to form. That did not change the flavor though. We laughed and enjoyed everything. Chef Wells was great! We took lots of pictures and she was a good sport and joined us when we asked.

It was a fun and wonderful experience. Chef Jennifer was very kind to us even though we arrived late and made everyone else wait (we parked in the wrong building by accident and then had to walk 3 blocks in the rain). We almost perfected our dough-rolling skills but it’s a lot harder than it looks. We had so much fun! Thank you!
