A veteran barkeep, Sarah LM Mengoni cut her teeth working in Michigan beer dives and
shot joints then moved to Chicago where she discovered and embraced the World of the Cocktail. Her enthusiasm for cocktail culture and gift for crafting unique recipes has earned her industry recognition, such as 50 Women to Watch in Hotel F&B magazine, as well as countless features in publications such as Imbibe, Food and Wine, Vogue, Forbes, GQ, and Time Out LA, to name a few. Sarah is a graduate of the distinguished BAR 5-DAY program in New York City, which stands as one of the industry’s top mixology certifications. Currently Sarah is teaching cocktail classes, working as a Bar and Beverage Consultant through and pedaling her book “Once Upon a Cocktail- West Hollywood”

Shannon was a wonderful teacher full of drinks history and interesting facts about liquor and mixes to use. The small group experience was super fun in the bar setting, not stuck in a back room. The four drinks we learned about each had different liquors so we had a nice sampling. The bar is beautiful and lively on a Sunday afternoon. The cost is appropriate as you really do have four full drinks! Small plate nibbles are available to purchase. The Or Bar has dedicated parking which made it easy. There are ample restaurants within walking distance to go to which you need food after these drinks. I would definietly recommend this experience!

We had Sarah’s business partner as a teacher, and she was fantastic! Very clear, thoughtful and made the class very fun. I wasn’t sure what I was getting into buying the tickets, but I’m glad I did. It was a fun date plus learned to make tasty drinks.
