I initially had booked the ramen making class for earlier that month but had to reschedule due to our day schedule. The day came for our ramen class and it was one of the rainiest days here in the city. We thought about cancelling or rescheduling again, but because it was a rainy day, it made sense to pair it with some delicious ramen soup. Well, out of all the people that registered for the class, it was only my partner, Chef Sandro, and me. Though this sounds like it would be an awkward or negative experience, Chef Sandro turned it around and we had the best one-on-one experience. He took time to show us how to julienne carrots (something I have always had trouble doing), what signs to look for to see if your dough is ready, and even how to crack an egg with one hand. Chef Sandro was warm, welcoming, and open to any questions we had about food, troubleshooting recipes, and even our own personal stories outside of the kitchen. He turned that night into an experience we won't forget.
