Chef Saruj is self-taught and earned his 25 years of experience from owning his own Thai quick-service restaurant.  It is called Chelsea Thai, located in Chelsea Market for 20 years.

Then he became a Thai restaurant startup consultant.  He learned most of his cooking experience from the best teacher, his mother. His roots are home-cooking, comfort food, and street food style.

His latest position was Sous Chef at the Pierre Hotel.

We had an absolutely fantastic time at the cooking class yesterday. The instructor was incredibly personable and welcoming, making everyone feel right at home. The class was fun, engaging, and we learned so much. We can’t wait to do this again. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great cooking experience!

This was a very fun class and environment. Saruj was a great teacher, and his experience was obvious. I think the best part was the discussion of ingredients, their source, differences in other cultures, and how to obtain them and use them.

My husband and I had a wonderful time. Chef Saruj explained every step throughly and guided us through the recipe. His anecdotes and conversation made the class more enjoyable. The food was delicious! Would highly recommend this class and Chef Saruj.
