Chef Saruj is self-taught and earned his 25 years of experience from owning his own Thai quick-service restaurant. It is called Chelsea Thai, located in Chelsea Market for 20 years.
Then he became a Thai restaurant startup consultant. He learned most of his cooking experience from the best teacher, his mother. His roots are home-cooking, comfort food, and street food style.
His latest position was Sous Chef at the Pierre Hotel.

Chef Saruj did an amazing job! He was informative, helpful, patient, and was genuinely interested in us having a great experience and actually learning something. He provided tips for how to prepare the dish at home, which was very much appreciated. I took two high school students and was not certain how much they would enjoy it, but they both loved it and want to do another class with Chef Saruj the next time we are in NYC. I cannot recommend this class enough.

What a great class. Starting with the atmosphere - it was like being at home, learning family recipes. I loved how the chef shared the histories of the food and his personal experience.

Wow, this was the best cooking class I've ever experienced. The instructor was amazing, very personable, friendly, and loved to share his knowledge about his home country, Thailand and their amazing food. The food was amazing and tasted like any resturant green thai curry I've had before. Would highly recommend
