Being raised in a Caribbean home in the Bronx means, Chef Shereen was always being introduced to new and wonderful strong flavors. For as long as she can remember, she always helped her grandmother with cooking and baking. Now when she looks back and thinks about my grandmother Flojo, she draws inspiration from their time together. For instance, one of her fondest memories is baking a Caribbean cake called Jamaican Rum Cake or also known as Black Cake. Knowing that she loved to bake, she decided to start working in the food industry in places like Babbo Ristorante and Otto Enoteca just to name a few. After 20 years of working in the food industry, she knows that baking is my passion! Her love for baking is endless. She knew to further myself in this industry she needed to get her degree, so she decided to enroll in culinary school and graduated from Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts with a degree in pastry and baking at the top of her class with honors. Her passion and love for baking have turned into beautiful and exquisite desserts.
