Chef Shota is an omakase sushi chef at a traditional Japanese sushi restaurant in Manhattan. Before moving to New York, he trained extensively in Japan, mastering the art of authentic sushi-making. With extensive experience leading sushi workshops in the U.S., he brings a unique perspective that blends traditional Japanese techniques with an understanding of American culture, creating memorable and engaging culinary experiences.

An amazing experience, the chef was very helpful and had enough supplies for everyone and extra. The sushi was delicious, I walked away definitely wanting to go home and make sushi on my own.

My team had a great experience learning to make sushi with Chef Shota! He was very patient and conversational, and did a great job guiding us through the different types of sushi. The ingredients and tools (bowls, bamboo mat, cutting board) were all prepared thoughtfully before the class started and we all felt very comfortable throughout the class.
