Born and raised in Jersey City’s Montgomery Projects, Chef Rashad began cooking professionally at age 12 on Doug’s Truck, sparking a lifelong passion for the culinary arts. He trained at the New York Restaurant School and went on to work in renowned kitchens including The Water Club, The River Café, Pershing Square, and The Frog and The Peach.

Alongside years of experience in fine dining and catering, Chef Rashad founded Dylilah’s Sweet Sensation, a thriving wholesale and retail bakery and catering business. He is also committed to community impact, teaching culinary skills, nutrition, and job readiness to youth in the Juvenile Justice System.

A chef, entrepreneur, and mentor, Chef Rashad brings heart, experience, and creativity to every class he leads.

Such a great experience! We drove 2 hours to attend, and it was absolutely worth it! Chef Rashad was entertaining, knowledgeable, and very hands-on. He explained everything clearly, shared many helpful tips and made the class both fun and easy to follow. Never once felt rushed or intimidating. I had an amazing time and will definitely be back. My family and I had an amazing time! Chef Rashad is very kind and you can tell he loves what he does. His crew was also very helpful and helped make the night enjoyable with ensuring we had utensils, water, etc. It was a fun experience learning how to make pasta! Definitely beginner friendly. The BYOB option was a plus. We did bring light snacks (SMALL charcuterie and fruit) which helped us get through the anticipation of having the pasta!
