A Marin County chef, and founder of “Indigenous Edibles”, I am also a lecturer, cooking instructor, native plant specialist, and food educator. I have been cooking with ingredients native to The Americas, for over 10 years. I am one of the few Bay Area chefs who specialize in the history, taste, and promotion of California’s, and The Americas’ indigenous, edible plants. I had the honor of cooking for Carlo Petrini, founder of Slow Foods International, Actor Peter Coyote, Members of Congress, and local indigenous organizations. My long-term goal is to help reestablish and source from Heritage Foodways.

This cooking class was awesome! John broke it down into 3 people per group. All the ingredients were easy to cut up and the directions were clear. John gave lots of good advice and I loved his stories while we cooked. It was such a fun evening. I would do this class again!!

Thought it was fun and engaging. I was lucky cuz my party got a dish to ourselves, but I might feel differently if we had to share with others.. overall good value!

John’s paella class was easy and fun. He had everything ready for us and then just guided us through the cooking. Can’t wait to do it again on my own. Would definitely take another class from him.
