Chef Peter was born and raised in Berkeley's gourmet ghetto neighborhood, home of Chez Panisse, the Cheeseboard and the very first location of Peet's coffee. Chef Peter has been a chef for more than 30 years and says “I have been a foodie from birth”. After graduating from cooking school, he worked with many of the founders of California Cuisine including Jeremiah Tower, Mark Miller and Bradley Ogden. He was also one of the key chefs for the groundbreaking pop up supper clubs Ghetto Gourmet and Canvas Underground. He is currently a private chef for an Italian family in the East Bay Area and travels extensively through Northern Italy eating and studying the local cuisine.

I definitely want to commend the class because I learned the basics of sushi making and that’s what I went for. I can’t wait to get started on making it at home!
I’d like to suggest a few changes, though: the personal stories were fine but more offensive than persuasive. “I work for a really wealthy woman in the area”, “nobody would be this exchange students friend so I took her in”. I realize it was their first sushi teaching class, but a few of us looked at each other like...um...
A few other small suggestions:
keep the soy sauce and wasabi available for personal/individual use, make sure the water’s filled at all times,
overplan versus skimp. We had to wait for the second round of sticky rice which left a lot of down time.
And they offered us to get a drink but there was no bartender.
Minor issues. I’d go again :)

I went with a group of 9 for a work event and we had such a good time. Peter is so nice and we learned a lot from him. I will definitely be taking another cocusocial class.
The ravioli was delicious! Just took a little too long to make, people needed to be more hands on.

I picked some great pointers from Chef Pete on making ravioli while having a great time at the class. Learning how to make pasta dough, stuff and cut the raviolis in different shapes, and then eating them all together while toasting glasses of vino? Forget about it, we had a blast. I wanted another sauce, chef, but hey I'm greedy. I'll be back for the next one, for sure. Thanks, chef!

Would have been better if we got to make our own pasta from start to end, instead of having everything mixed together. The pasta was delicious though! Also more chances to socialize with other people would have been nice.
