Fresh Handmade Pasta

Description

Escape to Rome for an evening to learn the art to creating the famous Fettuccine Alfredo!

Legend has it that after the birth of his first child in 1908, Alfredo di Lelio cooked up a batch of fettuccine noodles, crumbly Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, and plenty of butter to tempt his wife, as she was suffering from loss of appetite. The resulting dish was so delicious that di Lelio’s family put it on the menu at Alfredo alla Scrofa, the restaurant they opened in Rome several years later. Now world renowned, the Fettuccine Alfredo is one of Italy's most beloved dishes!

Learn the art to making this indulgent dish by making the semolina pasta dough from scratch, creating its fettuccine form and then incorporating it into its luscious, buttery sauce. We source the freshest ingredients to let the flavours shine through in this simple yet impressive dish. We'll also go over our favourite resources in NYC to find the ingredients and basic equipment you'll need for making your own Fettuccine Alfredo home!

No experience is required! We provide all the equipment and ingredients, which are easy to find at local markets if you don’t already have them in your home kitchen. Our events are casual and meant to be fun and instructive, not hardcore. This class is designed to be just as fun for the cooking enthusiast who wants to be a part of every step as it is for the first-timer who’s happier observing and assisting (or taste testing). You will work with other students in groups of 2-4.

Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in, especially if you’re part of a large group. Outside drinks are not allowed. Drinks are available for purchase from the venue and are NOT included in the ticket price. 21+ only.
