Have you ever wondered what it takes to become a master mixologist? Get ready for 90 minutes of cocktail crafting insights from Bar Director of LA's Otium, Chris Amirault! Creating cocktails alongside the menu at Otium is all about creative storytelling, and that's just what this live and interactive virtual mixology class is all about.
Have your equipment set out and ingredients ready so you can follow along with Chris to create 4 fantastic cocktails with a nod to some of the classics. Bees Knees, Bumble Bee, Negroni, and After School Special are on the menu for the evening. However, each has it's own whimsical twist! You'll be brewing tea, making milk honey, and even dropping some peanut butter into these versions.
Just like in the culinary world, mixology plays to the strength of the ingredients, especially what's in season and the quality of the product. So keep this in mind when purchasing your ingredients.
No experience is required and all skill levels are welcome! You will be taken through the process of making each cocktail step-by-step. Feel free to make as many of the 4 cocktails as you'd like, or simply watch the magic happen.
This class incorporates 4 types of liquor: Gin, Campari, Sweet Vermouth, and Rye Whiskey. Some of the other essential ingredients you will need to craft your drinks include: lemon (juiced), honey, milk, green tea bag, salt, peanut butter, raspberries, orange, and ice.
You will have the opportunity to engage with Chris throughout using the Zoom chat box. There will also be time at the end for a more formal Q&A with the bartender. All attendees will also receive a free recording of the class afterward to watch again!
