Don’t let the sushi chef have all the fun!

Come and learn how to spread, layer, tuck and roll your way to sushi heaven. In this fun, hands-on social cooking class, you’ll learn all the skills needed to make sushi-rolls at home, including how to prepare sushi rice, select sushi-grade fish, and add additional tasty neta (ingredients) to enhance your dining experience. You’ll learn to make three types of sushi rolls: California Roll, Spicy Salmon Roll, and a traditional Cucumber Roll.

No experience is required! We provide all the equipment and ingredients, which are easy to find at local markets if you don’t already have them in your home kitchen. Our events are casual and meant to be fun and instructive, not hardcore. This class is designed to be just as fun for the cooking enthusiast who wants to be a part of every step as it is for the first-timer who’s happier observing and assisting (or taste testing).

Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in. You will be seated with your booking party. Guests in the same booking party will work together throughout the class by sharing ingredients and equipment. The class location within the hotel varies based on availability, unfortunately we cannot guarantee the rooftop every class. Drinks are NOT included in the ticket price. This class is NOT BYOB.

Chef Ken is a New Jersey native who made his way to Atlanta over two decades ago. While completing his study at the esteemed Savannah State University, he discovered his passion for the culinary arts and has brought his unique taste and style to kitchens across the country since. Getting his start catering private parties and events for Atlanta’s professionals and elite, Chef Ken rose to prominence in the motion picture catering industry, catering productions for Tyler Perry, Oprah Winfrey, Ava Duvernay, Jerry Bruckheimer, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and many more. With over a decade of experience in the food service industry, Chef Ken now caters events for over a dozen restaurants in the metropolitan Atlanta area, servicing some of the city’s most renowned clientele.

Luminous Gatherings Event Space is located in Sandy Springs, GA near 285, just 20 minutes from midtown Atlanta. This space is adorned with a white open concept, mirrors and exposed high ceilings. Your special event can be reimagined here to gather with your family, friends and partners. Our capacity of 80 guests seated will accommodate the most intimate occasions in this 2,000 square foot space. We have ample free parking and handicap accessibility.

Cancellation policy
Reschedule request have to be made at least 48 hours before the class for groups of less than 6 people and 14 days for groups of 6 people or more. Cancellations are not permitted and tickets are non-refundable.See terms and policy.
