French Macaron

Description

Learn to make French macarons to rival Ladurée in this small group, action-packed class.

In this fun and hands-on class, you’ll learn tips and techniques for making delectable macarons, easy enough to be done in your home kitchen. Together we'll demystify the making of these highly sought-after meringue-based sandwich cookies. You’ll be guided step-by-step through the meringue mixing (macaronage), piping, baking, assembling and of course, the eating! Plus we’ll explore a few yummy flavor and filling variations. Macarons are delicate confections made with almond flour.

No experience is required! We provide all the equipment and ingredients, which are easy to find at local markets if you wish to recreate these at home after the class. Our events are casual and meant to be fun and instructive, not hardcore. This class is designed to be just as fun for the baking enthusiast who wants to be a part of every step as it is for the first-timer who’s happier observing and assisting. When we say small group, we mean it! This special class with a highly experienced professional pastry chef Eloise will only allow up to 2 people at each class so you and your partner are sure to have all the attention to ensure you walk away with valuable knowledge.

Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in, wearing your mask.

Meet your chef instructor
The Curious Whisk owner Chef Eloise has her roots from the Philippines where she was born and raised. After finishing her engineering degree, she found her true calling to be in the pastry world. The journey took her to the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco. Fast forward to many years later in 2008, she chose San Francisco as her second home and worked at several restaurants before opening her own.

In 2014, Eloise discovered another passion which is teaching people how to bake. She loves sharing her knowledge and expertise in the kitchen to her guests. She specializes in making french macarons and her classes will leave you with a new set of skills and pro tips. Aside from baking, she finds joy in dark chocolate, anything matcha, hiking around the bay area, and spending time with her 10-year-old son.
