Classic French Macaron

Description

Be transported to the patisseries of Paris with this classic French Macaron class!

Don your chef aprons, grab your whisks and let's get baking! In this fun and interactive class, you will learn the fine art to making these mouthwatering morsels that are easy enough to be done in your own kitchen!  Together with our classically French trained Pastry Chef Instructor, we will demystify the making of these highly sought-after meringue-based sandwich cookies. Our Pastry Chef Instructor will take you through a detailed demonstration, before you will be guided step-by-step in replicating the process of meringue mixing, otherwise known as 'macaronage', piping, baking, assembling and of course, eating! We will also explore a few flavor profiles and filling variations such as buttercream, ganache, and fruit preserves to make your macarons really stand out from the rest!

No experience is required! We provide all the equipment and ingredients, which are easy to find at local markets if you don't already have them in your home kitchen. This class is designed to be just as fun for the baking enthusiast who wants to be a part of every step as it is for the first-timer who's happier observing and assisting (or taste testing).

Guests in the same booking party will work together throughout the class by sharing ingredients and equipment. Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in. Classes are intended for adults 18+. Drinks are NOT included in the ticket price, however guests 21+ are invited to BYOB (beer, wine, and champagne only).

Meet your chef instructor

French pastry was the key that unlocked Chef Plympton's passion as a young woman. Driven by curiosity to understand the why and how behind every technique, her culinary journey began decades ago and continues to inspire her today. Over the past 50 years, she has shared her gift for pastry and cooking with others—beginning in New York City and now calling Texas home.

Growing up on Long Island, she began her career in New York City during her externship at the Culinary Institute of America. There, she had the opportunity to learn from some of the finest kitchens and chefs, including Maxim’s, Harry Cipriani, and Le Gavroche.

Her philosophy is simple: prioritize the freshest ingredients, embrace classic cooking techniques, and above all, listen. For her, it’s never about personal preference—it’s about understanding her guests and creating something meaningful for them. Chef [Name]’s true gift lies in bringing her experiences together to enrich the lives of others, one delicious pinch at a time.
