Intro to the Art of Sushi

Don't let the sushi chef have all the fun!

Come and learn how to spread, layer, tuck and roll your way to sushi heaven. In this fun, hands-on social cooking class, you'll learn all the skills needed to make sushi rolls at home, including how to prepare sushi rice, select sushi-grade fish, and add additional tasty neta (ingredients) to enhance your dining experience. You'll learn to make three sushi rolls: California & Spicy Salmon plus a traditional seaweed out Vegetable roll from scratch at this class.

Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in.  Guests in the same booking party will work together throughout the class by sharing ingredients and equipment. To ensure the safety and enriching experience of all participants, we require children aged 14 to 17 be accompanied by a parent or guardian during our cooking classes. Classes are intended for adults 18+.  Outside drinks are not permitted. Drinks are NOT included in the ticket price, however guests 21+ may purchase beverages from the lobby bar within the venue.

Chef Syd is a graduate of the Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts and a former Disney chef with a passion for bold, beautiful food and interactive culinary experiences.

She spent two years cooking at Walt Disney World, contributing to:

  • EPCOT Food & Wine Festivals, where she helped create globally inspired dishes from Japan to Brazil
  • Boatwright’s Dining Hall, where she mastered Southern-Cajun comfort food
  • The Crystal Palace, where she served elevated classics to thousands of guests daily

Syd has also traveled to countries such as Panama and China to learn food traditions firsthand. These experiences shaped her belief that food should not only taste incredible but also tell a story — a philosophy she brings to every class she teaches. Her style is fun, supportive, and full of flavor, leaving guests laughing, learning, and inspired.

The nature of our classes is set up so that booking parties will work together during class, sharing both ingredients and equipment.  Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in.  You will be seated with your booking group. Groups of 2 may be asked to share cooking stations with another group of two guests. Drinks are available for purchase from the venue and are NOT included in the ticket price. Outside drinks are not permitted.

Cancellation policy
Reschedule request have to be made at least 48 hours before the class for groups of less than 6 people and 14 days for groups of 6 people or more. Cancellations are not permitted and tickets are non-refundable.See terms and policy.
