Handmade Empanadas

Description

Empanadas are pastries traditionally filled with seafood, meat, cheese, vegetables or fruit. They're thought to have originated in Spain, where the Empanada Festival is part of Galician culture.

In this fun-filled interactive class, you will enjoy working alongside classmates learning how to make delicious empanadas completely from scratch. Choose to make one of two fillings, either vegetarian (squash based) or beef. Our experienced Chef Instructor will guide you step-by-step in replicating the process of making, kneading, chilling, rolling, and shaping the dough, as well as teaching you to make your desired filling recipe and a delightfully creamy avocado dipping sauce.

After filling and shaping the empanadas, guests will break out into groups to fry up their savory pastries before digging in to enjoy their hard work. Empanadas will be mid-sized and each guest will be able to make and enjoy four empanadas along with their dipping sauce.

No experience is required! We provide all the equipment and ingredients, which are easy to find at local markets if you don’t already have them in your home kitchen. Our events are casual and meant to be fun and instructive, not hardcore. This class is designed to be just as fun for the cooking enthusiast who wants to be a part of every step as it is for the first-timer who’s happier observing and assisting (or taste testing).

Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in, wearing your mask, especially if you’re part of a large group. Guests in the same booking party will sit and work together throughout the class. You will be socially distanced from other booking parties. Outside drinks are not allowed. Drinks are available for purchase from the venue and are NOT included in the ticket price. 21+ only.
