Meet your chef instructor
Chef Dawn hails from Philadelphia and has lived in both Mexico and Ireland before settling in Chicago. With a BA in Anthropology focused on Mesoamerican Archaeology of the ancient Maya, she is also fluent in Spanish and holds a minor in Latin American Studies. She takes great pride in her two grown sons, who are both exceptional cooks. As a seasoned chef, Chef Dawn has built her career working with top catering companies in Philadelphia and Chicago, specializing in off-premise catering. Her time abroad exposed her to a variety of cuisines, with a particular fondness for the simple yet exquisite meals inspired by the fresh catches brought in by fishermen from Achill Island. To her, there is nothing quite like the taste of freshly caught fish, prepared simply to let its natural flavors shine. Beyond her culinary pursuits, Chef Dawn is a passionate artist who enjoys painting, following soccer, listening to music, and diving into mystery novels. She finds joy in spending time with her beloved pets, Rhea the dog and Perstephone the cat, who are her constant companions.
