Japanese Ramen

Description

Escape to the streets of Tokyo as we create this infamous winter warmer, Japanese Ramen Noodle Soup! This class is perfect for anyone who enjoys Asian flavors and wants to learn more about how to recreate these flavors and techniques at home!

In this fun, hands-on class, you will be guided step-by-step in recreating this popular noodle soup dish, renowned for its rich broth, abundance of noodles and endless toppings! You will firstly be trained in some foundational knife skills used to chop all of your fresh ingredients. You will then learn how to balance flavors to create your Ramen broth (using a base of chicken stock) with protein from chicken wings and the addition of various vegetables. You will finally learn how to cook your noodles and add all the extras that make a deliciously authentic dish! Once you have created your soup sensations, you can have fun customising your bowl with a variety of traditional garnishes and toppings before devouring your creation with your new found foodie friends!

No experience is required! We provide all the equipment and ingredients, which are easy to find at local markets if you don’t already have them in your home kitchen. Our events are casual and meant to be fun and instructive, not hardcore. This class is designed to be just as fun for the cooking enthusiast who wants to be a part of every step as it is for the first-timer who’s happier observing and assisting (or taste testing).

Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in, wearing your mask. You will be seated with your booking party and socially distanced from other guests. Guests in the same booking party will work together throughout the class by sharing ingredients and equipment. Drinks are NOT included in the ticket price, but will be available for sale at the venue. 21+

Class was wonderful. Was a birthday gift for my dad and he had so much fun. Great class for any skill level. Lots of background given on all ingredients and cooking methods. Chef was great about answering all questions. Also a great bar on site!

The instructor, Gill, was great. There were some technical issues that he handled well on the fly. I appreciated that he gave us a recipe/technique that we could easily recreate at home. The bartender was extremely inexperienced/unknowledgeable (i.e. he didn't know what a well drink was), which wasn't a big deal, but it did take away from the experience a little bit.
