Handmade Sweet Potato Gnocchi

Description

With a few simple ingredients, a little muscle and a lot of love, whip up homemade pillow-soft dumplings just like Nonna!

In this fun, hands-on and interactive class, you will learn the tips and tricks of how to make a sweet potato dough from scratch. Try your hands at gnocchi made from sweet potatoes. Your chef instructor will demonstrate how to make an herb sauce, which is a reduction of vegetable stock with roux, onions, garlic, white wine, salt and pepper. Flavor the sauce with sweet peppers or cherry tomatoes to practice your knife skills.

During this class you will learn the techniques for sweet potato gnocchi dough preparation, sweating onions and garlic, how to make and use a roux, reducing liquids over heat, and much more!

We source the freshest ingredients to let the flavors shine through in these versatile recipes. Everyone will sit down and enjoy their pasta at the end of class. Feel free to BYOB to enjoy throughout the class! The venue has a cute outdoor patio with additional seating to enjoy your meal and drinks (weather permitting).

No experience is required! We provide all the equipment and ingredients, which are easy to find at local markets if you don’t already have them in your home kitchen. Our events are casual and meant to be fun and instructive, not hardcore. This class is designed to be just as fun for the cooking enthusiast who wants to be a part of every step as it is for the first-timer who’s happier observing and assisting (or taste testing).

You will be working with your booking party and socially distanced from other guests. Guests in the same booking party will work together throughout the class by sharing ingredients and equipment. Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in, wearing your mask. Guests are invited to BYOB beer, wine, or champagne.

My husband and I had a great experience together! It was interesting how to make Gnocchi. Aside from that, we were impressed by the chef's knowledge. He taught us some tricks while dicing onions, when to remove the green part of it and why, and difference between sauteed and sweat onions. Overall, it was beyond our expectations. So much fun! Thank you so much!
