Looking for a fun way to add a homemade dessert to your family table? Look no further! No gathering is complete until you have had a slice or two of your favorite pie, so let us teach you how to bake the perfect one!
In this seasonal class, our experienced Pastry Chef Instructor will guide you step-by-step through the technical processes of perfecting the classic pie with its flaky butter crust and luscious fillings featuring the flavors of the season! Learn the skilled processes of balancing ingredients, pie-dough making, proofing and blind-baking. Each student will have the choice of making one 9 inch pie or tart, or three mini pies/tarts. Choose between cream pies, chocolate pies, and fruit pies.
Once you have created your delicious masterpieces, you will then plate, decorate and devour your creations with your new found foodie friends! Or, take your pie home and share it with family and friends. After taking this class, make sure to tell your guests to save room for dessert because they are going to want to sample your newly honed baking skills this season!
No experience is required! We provide all the equipment and ingredients which are easy to find at local markets if you don’t already have them in your home kitchen. Our events are casual and meant to be fun and instructive, not hardcore. This class is designed to be just as fun for the baking enthusiast who wants to be a part of every step as it is for the first-timer who’s happier observing and assisting (or taste testing).
Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in, wearing your mask. Guests will be required to show proof of full vaccination in order to participate in class. Please note that class will be hosted in Chef Jean's home with ample space to social distance booking parties from one another. Chef Jean is also maintaining a sanitized space, for your safety, as per CDC guidelines. You are invited to BYOB beer, wine, or champagne with you to class.
