Classic French Macaron

Description

Be transported to the patisseries of Paris with this classic French Macaron class!

Don your chef aprons, grab your whisks and let's get baking! In this fun and interactive class, you will learn the fine art to making these mouthwatering morsels that are easy enough to be done in your own kitchen!  Together with our classically French trained Pastry Chef Instructor, we will demystify the making of these highly sought-after meringue-based sandwich cookies. Our Pastry Chef Instructor will take you through a detailed demonstration, before you will be guided step-by-step in replicating the process of meringue mixing, otherwise known as 'macaronage', piping, baking, assembling and of course, eating! We will also explore a few flavor profiles and filling variations such as buttercream, ganache, and fruit preserves to make your macarons really stand out from the rest!

No experience is required! We provide all the equipment and ingredients, which are easy to find at local markets if you don't already have them in your home kitchen. This class is designed to be just as fun for the baking enthusiast who wants to be a part of every step as it is for the first-timer who's happier observing and assisting (or taste testing).

Guests in the same booking party will work together throughout the class by sharing ingredients and equipment. Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in. Classes are intended for adults 18+. Drinks are NOT included in the ticket price, however guests 21+ are invited to BYOB (beer, wine, and champagne only).

Where the class will be
Paper Co.
1100 Elder St, Houston, TX 77007L
Since the beginning, coffee has been an essential part of Ecclesia Houston. In our early days, our cafe, then called Taft Street Cafe, served the Montrose community as an art gallery and gathering space. Our mission then was "to be a place where the sacred and secular intersect over a great cup of coffee." In 2013, we relocated to our current location at 1100 Elder and established Paper Co. Cafe, a welcoming space for everyone. For seven years, we proudly served our community with coffee, food, and compassion. However, when the pandemic hit in 2020, we needed to close our doors to the public. So we transformed the cafe into a food kitchen, providing meals for the unhoused members of our community. Looking ahead to 2024, we are thrilled to embark on the next chapter of Paper Co. Once again, our cafe will be open seven days a week for our community and the city of Houston. We are excited to uphold the tradition of serving exceptional coffee and fostering meaningful conversation. Our vision remains unchanged - "a cafe for all.
