There is a reason so many restaurants put Risotto on their menus - it’s not a dish most people attempt to cook at home! Risotto has a reputation for being fussy as it requires a lot of attention and stirring.

However, Risotto really is the perfect dish for all seasons. All you need is to master the base technique and the possibilities are endless!

In this fun and hands-on class, you will be guided step-by-step in how to make the perfect Risotto. One variation will feature butternut squash and the other, mushrooms.

Aligning with the mindset that no ingredients should go to waste, you will also learn how to turn left over risotto into traditional Arancini , or fried rice balls.

By the end of this class, you will have gained the confidence to try mastering your own Risotto at home using seasonal ingredients. Plus, you'll have learned new recipes that you're sure to practice making at home again and again.

No experience is required! We provide all the equipment and ingredients, which are easy to find at local markets if you don’t already have them in your home kitchen. Our events are casual and meant to be fun and instructive, not hardcore. This class is designed to be just as fun for the cooking enthusiast who wants to be a part of every step as it is for the first-timer who’s happier observing and assisting (or taste testing).

Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in, wearing your mask. You will be seated with your booking party and socially distanced from other guests. Guests in the same booking party will work together throughout the class by sharing ingredients and equipment. Drinks are NOT included in the ticket price, but will be available for sale at the venue. 21+

Meet your chef instructor
Chef Gill has worked in all facets in the foodservice industry. He has taught cooking for students training to be professional chefs at Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Los Angeles and recreational classes for the home cook at The Gourmandise School in Santa Monica California, Hudson Table in Hoboken New Jersey, Cook Space in Brooklyn New York and Sur la Table in Los Angeles and NYC. He is a Certified Executive Chef, Culinary Administrator, and Culinary Educator. He is also a graduate of Johnson and Wales University and has a Graduate Certificate in Gastronomy from University of Adelaide Australia.

Guest requirement
All guests are required to show proof of full vaccination in order to participate in class. Your Chef Instructor will be checking vaccine cards and apps during check in from this day forward. Until then, all guests are required to wear masks during class regardless of vaccination status. Your chef instructor will wear a mask throughout the entire class as well. Guests will be allowed to remove their masks when eating and drinking. As a result, booking parties will be socially distanced from one another while eating. The nature of our classes are set up so that booking parties will work together during class, sharing both ingredients and equipment. Outside drinks are not allowed. Drinks are available for purchase from the venue and are NOT included in the ticket price. 21+ only.
Cancellation policy
Reschedule request have to be made at least 48 hours before the class for groups of less than 6 people and 14 days for groups of 6 people or more. Cancellations are not permitted and tickets are non-refundable.See terms and policy.

Fun class for my moms bday. Space wasn't conducive for a cooking class so we had to start later but Chef Gill made it work and my guest were patient and end up enjoying ourselves. The risotto and arancini turned out great.
