Empanadas are not as complicated to make as you may think! With a few pantry staples and a filling based on the flavor profile of your choice, Chef K will show you how to make these traditional Spanish empanadas at home anytime. Work alongside your talented Chef instructor while taking in beautiful rooftop views at this private venue. An Empanada-filled evening paired with a San Diego sunset and your BYOB beverage of choice is sure to be an unforgettable experience!

In this fun and hands-on class, you will be guided step-by-step to make empanadas from scratch, from the dough to the fillings. Arguably the best part about empanadas is that the filling options are endless! You will start with an instruction on making the dough which you will replicate in your own small groups. Next, you’ll be guided through preparation of fillings and put your knife skills to use as you prep and chop your chosen ingredients. For this class, you'll have a choice of ground beef, spices, and an assortment of vegetables (such as potatoes, peas and onions). Your Chef will demonstrate how to fill the empanada disks before folding and sealing the edges off to be baked to a flaky, golden perfection. When your empanadas are ready to enjoy, you will garnish with fresh herbs and pair with your choice of salsa and/or sour cream and then sit back to enjoy them with your new foodie friends at this beautiful rooftop space.

No experience is required! We provide all the equipment and ingredients, which are easy to find at local markets if you don’t already have them in your home kitchen. Our events are casual and meant to be fun and instructive, not hardcore. This class is designed to be just as fun for the cooking enthusiast who wants to be a part of every step as it is for the first-timer who’s happier observing and assisting.

Guests in the same booking party will work together throughout the class by sharing ingredients and equipment. Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in, BYOB (beer, wine and champagne) is welcome! Chef Kirsten is a wellness Chef looking to inspire others to cook, grow and use fresh ingredients. Her favorite hobby is to grow fresh herbs and veggies, and incorporate them into her daily meals. She has 10 years of culinary experience as a personal chef and meal prep consultant. She also has a Spanish background and is bilingual.

This event will take place at the Chef's personal venue, on a beautiful and intimate rooftop setting perfect for smaller class sizes. Parking is free on the street, and guests will be greeted in the lobby and be taken up via the elevator to the roof. The nature of our classes are set up so that booking parties will work together during class, sharing both ingredients and equipment. Please arrive 15 minutes early for class. Cancellation policy
Reschedule request have to be made at least 48 hours before the class for groups of less than 6 people and 14 days for groups of 6 people or more. Cancellations are not permitted and tickets are non-refundable.See terms and policy.
