Discover the rich culinary traditions of Northern India in this hands-on cooking experience featuring two beloved classics: Butter Chicken and freshly made naan bread.
Butter Chicken, known as Murgh Makhani, originated in Delhi in the mid-20th century when inventive chefs transformed leftover tandoori chicken into a luxurious tomato and butter-based curry. The result became one of India's most celebrated dishes, renowned for its velvety texture, delicate balance of spices, and comforting depth of flavor.
In this class, you'll learn how to marinate and prepare tender chicken, build a rich and aromatic butter chicken sauce from scratch, and master the techniques for creating soft, pillowy naan bread with the perfect texture and char. Along the way, we'll explore the cultural significance and history behind these dishes while gaining confidence with traditional Indian spices and cooking methods.
By the end of the class, you'll have the skills to recreate an elegant and authentic Indian meal at home—one that is both deeply rooted in tradition and perfect for sharing with family and friends.
No experience is required! We provide all the equipment and ingredients, which are easy to find at local markets if you don't already have them in your home kitchen. Our events are casual and meant to be fun and instructive, not hardcore. This class is designed to be just as fun for the cooking enthusiast who wants to be a part of every step as it is for the first-timer who is happier observing and assisting (or taste testing).
