Embark on a delightful culinary journey with our Introduction to Yeast-Raised Donuts class, where you’ll master the foundational art of enriched dough. Whether you’re a novice baker or simply looking to expand your baking repertoire, this class is designed to put you at ease as you delve into the world of yeasted pastries. Under the guidance of our experienced instructor, you’ll learn the secrets behind creating the perfect yeasted dough, from mixing the ingredients to achieving the ideal texture and flavor. During the class, you’ll have the opportunity to get hands-on experience as we craft a variety of donuts. We will make the traditional donut topped with a glaze (and sprinkles), Apple Cider donuts and some we can even be filled with jam or vanilla pastry cream, and you will also learn to make donut holes as well. Once you’ve learned the basics, you’ll discover the versatility of enriched dough, opening up a world of culinary possibilities. From classic French brioche or the ever popular cinnamon roll, you’ll be amazed at the endless ways you can showcase your newfound skills. By the end of the class, you’ll be ready to impress your friends and family at morning brunch with your exquisite homemade donuts!

No experience is required! We provide all the equipment and ingredients, which are easy to find at local markets if you don’t already have them in your home kitchen. Our events are casual and meant to be fun and instructive, not hardcore. This class is designed to be just as fun for the cooking enthusiast who wants to be a part of every step as it is for the first-timer who’s happier observing and assisting (or taste testing).

Please arrive 15 min early to check in and settle in. Guests are invited to BYOB (beer, wine, or champagne).

Originally from Chicago, Chef Lauren always had a passion for baking, and she earned a Pastry Certificate from The College of the Canyons in Valencia, CA and has been pursuing her culinary career ever since. Her main passions are cake decorating and high-end desserts, but she’ll never shy away from a good ol' chocolate chip cookie! Her main baking philosophy is that it is less about the product and more about the journey. Of course, things need to taste good (and hopefully be beautiful), but the main goal is connection. The food we make and share creates a bond by evoking memories or creating new ones. I want everyone in my classes to leave with a better understanding of the process, but for me, the most important part is to have fun and enjoy yourself.

Guest requirement
The nature of our classes are set up so that booking parties will work together during class, sharing both ingredients and equipment. Please arrive 15 minutes early to allow time to park and check in. Guests are invited to BYOB (beer, wine, or champagne).
Cancellation policy
Reschedule request have to be made at least 48 hours before the class for groups of less than 6 people and 14 days for groups of 6 people or more. Cancellations are not permitted and tickets are non-refundable.See terms and policy.
