Handmade Ricotta Ravioli

Description

Ravioli has been delighting diners since the 14th century, when it was first described as a dish filled with herbs, cheese, and eggs. Centuries later, it remains one of Italy’s most beloved culinary traditions.

In this hands-on class, you’ll discover just how achievable it is to recreate restaurant-quality ravioli at home. Chef Jerel will guide you through making fresh pasta dough from scratch, teaching you how to knead, roll, and shape it with confidence.

You’ll then fill and seal your own ravioli before pairing it with a classic butter and sage sauce- simple, elegant, and full of flavor.

By the end of the class, you’ll have the skills (and confidence) to bring this timeless Italian dish into your own kitchen.

No experience is required! We provide all the equipment and ingredients, which are easy to find at local markets if you don’t already have them in your home kitchen. Our events are casual and meant to be fun and instructive. This class is designed to be just as fun for the cooking enthusiast who wants to be a part of every step as it is for the first-timer who’s happier observing and assisting (or taste testing).

Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in, especially if you’re part of a large group. Guests will work in groups throughout the class, sharing equipment and ingredients. Outside drinks are not allowed. Drinks are available for purchase from the venue and are NOT included in the ticket price. 21+ only. To ensure the safety and enriching experience of all participants, we require children aged 14 to 17 be accompanied by a parent or guardian during our cooking classes. Classes are intended for adults 21+.

After earning his culinary degree, Chef Jerel Dam Jhocson moved to Italy to fully immerse himself in his craft, working in a traditional osteria in the heart of Barbaresco, one of the country’s most celebrated wine regions. Returning to the United States, Chef Jerel spent the past decade honing his skills across a range of New York City restaurants, working his way up to executive chef roles where he led kitchen teams and helped train new generations of cooks. Outside of the kitchen, Chef Jerel enjoys training in traditional Filipino martial arts, archery, and gaming.
