For the Love of Dough: Calzones, Garlic Knots & Zeppole

Description

What's more satisfying than baked dough that's fresh out of the oven? Whether is stuffed with cheese or sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar, the thought of it already has us drooling!

Join us for a one-of-a-kind workshop on all things dough. In this fun and hands-on class you will learn how to master the art of making your own calzone. Choose from the following fillings to tailor the recipe to your taste: mushrooms, onion, garlic, mozzarella, parmesan, fontina cheese, blue cheese, red sauce, and basil. Each guest will tie up 6 garlic knots to lather in butter, parsley, and garlic to then take home with them.

Chef Rob will demo how to make Italian zeppole as a sweet variety for all guests to enjoy, sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar. Pairs will get to visit the kitchen to get a first look at the baking process.

No experience is required! We provide all the equipment and ingredients, which are easy to find at local markets if you don’t already have them in your home kitchen. Our events are casual and meant to be fun and instructive, not hardcore. This class is designed to be just as fun for the cooking enthusiast who wants to be a part of every step as it is for the first-timer who’s happier observing and assisting (or taste testing).

Please arrive 10 minutes early to check in, especially if you’re part of a large group. Guests in the same booking party will sit and work together throughout the class. Outside drinks are not allowed. Drinks are available for purchase from the venue and are NOT included in the ticket price. 21+ only.

Chef Shah was awesome! So patient, kind, informative and humorous. We felt so taken care of by him and the team. Didn’t hurt that the food was also delicious and we learned some tips and tricks to make our own garlic knots, calzones and zeppoles. Thank you!!

Great class, I’d definitely recommend! I attend the Saturday “For the Love of Dough” class with Chef Shah. He was funny, knowledgeable, and a great teacher. We made garlic knots (to take home and bake, although he did provide us with garlic knots to eat at the start of class), calzones, and zeppoles. Aprons were not provided and the location was 601 Lexington Avenue. The place is hard to find but it’s inside a building called The Hugh, which is a food court.

Had a really great time learning how to prepare the dough for cooking from Chef Shaw. The calzone we made was delicious, everyone gets to prepare their own and it was more than big enough to leave with a full stomach. Anyone looking for a fun cooking class should book.
