Mixology 101: Pop Culture Classics

Description

Join us for an exciting two-hour mixology experience where you'll transform into a skilled bartender, crafting cocktails inspired by some pop culture classics.  Led by a seasoned mixologist, this session will guide you through the art of mastering four delightful concoctions.

The first is for all the 90s kids who loved starting their weekend watching the Rugrats.  This cocktail is a play on the Reptar Bar, a chocolate-caramel Alexander with a matcha rim and liquid chlorophyll that will yield a Reptar green tongue.  The second cocktail is inspired by the Harry Potter Series, a Pumpkin-Juice Espresso Martini (dairy free).  For any fans of the TV show Adventure Time, we're featuring a Bacon Pancake Smash: a bright lemon-mint Whiskey Smash that's sweetened with brown butter maple and seasoned with bacon bitters.  Finally, for the Japanese manga Naruto fans, we will teach you how to make a Ichiraku Ramen Old-Fashioned.  This old-fashioned is layered with a soy-mirin syrup, sesame, miso tincture and a charred-scalliion garnish.  Talk about Umami flavors!  Each cocktail focuses on different mixology techniques, including muddling, double-straining, and using essential oil from fruit peels.
Get ready for a hands-on journey into the world of mixology and leave with the skills to impress your friends and family with your newfound cocktail expertise.

The instructor will demonstrate each cocktail on the menu, giving you the opportunity to taste them all. Each student will be paired with a partner and have the opportunity to make their two favorites from the list.

Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in.  Guests will work in groups of two throughout the class by sharing ingredients and equipment, but we are happy to seat you with your booking party if you are with a bigger group.  Outside drinks are not allowed. 21+ only.
