Enter into the world of gastronomy, by learning to master the exquisite globally renowned marine dish, Ceviche. Ceviche is synonymous with feelings of pride and admiration for all Peruvians.
In this hands-on workshop, our expert Chef Instructor will guide you step-by-step in preparing this fresh and delicious dish, along side a delicious leche de tigre ("Tiger's Milk"). Only the freshest and most authentic flavors and ingredients will be used, allowing you to feel as though you are transported to Peru.
Guests will fine tune their knife skills by learning how to julienne, brunoise, and chiffonade their vegetables and herbs. This is a one of a kind authentic culinary experience! Not only will you sit down to a delicious and flavor-packed meal, that you learned to make yourself, but you'll walk away having learned much about Peruvian culture.
No experience is required! All equipment and ingredients will be provided. Our events are casual and meant to be fun, relaxing and instructive, not hardcore. This class is designed to be just as fun for the cooking enthusiast who wants to be a part of every step as it is for the first-timer who’s happier observing and assisting. Chef Diego will provide non-alcoholic beverages and a traditional Peruvian snack for you to enjoy throughout the class.
Please note that class will be hosted in Chef Diego's apartment. Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in and get comfortable. Guests are welcome to BYOB.
Guests are invited to BYOB wine, beer, or champagne. Chef Diego will provide non-alcoholic beverages and a traditional Peruvian snack for you to enjoy throughout the class. The nature of our classes are set up so that booking parties will work together during class, sharing both ingredients and equipment. Chef Diego's apartment is conveniently located near the 86th Street 4, 5, and 6 trains and 86th Street Q train. There is a parking garage that is attached to the building with an entrance on 89th Street. Additionally, guests may park at any open street space surrounding 89th & 3rd Avenue. A small caution though that street parking is limited and can be difficult to find. Guests will have to check in with the doorman once they arrive in the building. The Doorman will let them up as soon as they are cleared. Once exiting the elevator, make a right and it is the first apartment on the left-hand side of the hall.
