In this hands-on cooking class, you will learn to make two different kinds of pasta: gnocchi and gnudi -- tiny delicious dumplings made with potatoes or ricotta. We’ll also make two classic sauces: a nutty brown butter sage parmesan sauce and marinara sauce to pair with our freshly made gnocchi and gnudi. Chef Angela, an authentic Italian chef, will demonstrate how to make gnocchi and gnudi, followed by the class making the dough, then hand forming and cutting them into little delightful pillows. You will use Chef Angela’s gnocchi board brought from Italy to form the grooved pasta. You'll walk away knowing how to make well-crafted dough, how to form the pasta, and what it takes to put together an authentic Italian meal to impress your family and friends!
No experience is required! We provide all the equipment and ingredients, which are easy to find at local markets if you don’t already have them in your home kitchen. This class is designed to be just as fun for the cooking enthusiast who wants to be a part of every step as it is for the first-timer who’s happier observing and assisting (or taste testing).
Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in, especially if you’re part of a large group. Please note we request everyone to wear masks during the class.
Chef Angela grew up with Italian-born parents who raised their children on freshly made meals, bringing their local organic farm-to-fork values to the family table. Growing up, everything was homemade and family recipes were cherished and passed down. During the holidays, Chef Angela enjoys continuing the tradition of cooking special family recipes from Italy.
Chef Angela has been cooking alongside her grandmother and mother since she was a little girl, seeing that food was love, and was inspired to learn everything about the craft of cooking. Sharing food, collecting recipes, and reading cookbooks became her life’s passion. Recently, she was featured on Fox 5 News doing a live cooking segment with kids! Chef Angela contributes recipes and cooking tips for newsletters as well.
Besides some boutique catering, Chef Angela teaches kids and adult cooking classes, which includes working with homeschools, nonprofits, the Italian Cultural Center, and Girl Scouts, to name a few. She also makes personalized weekly meals for busy families where she lovingly includes her conversation starters because of her strong belief in bringing families back to the dinner table. Buon Appetito!
