Spanish Paella

Description

Due to the nature of the class structure, please make sure you are making a reservation in a group of two. Take a trip to vibrant Spain with us in this hands-on, interactive cooking class featuring Paella with a Mediterranean twist. This class takes place at Chef Gus' spacious commercial kitchen, where you will be able to get a first hand experience of what it's like to be a professional chef behind a production kitchen. This quintessential Spanish dish was often featured as a special late lunch treat on Sundays for the poorest-farmers families in Valencia. Its preparation was not complex. The idea was to take all week's left-over and mix with rice. They were farmers so they had all the ingredients very close by like pork, beef, chorizo, rabbit & rice. They also farmed faffron, an exotic spice brought from Morocco. Now, there are many different Paella styles and ingredients, but all maintaining the unique flavor of the Saffron.

Learn how to make this recipe infused with spices and herbs, smoky chorizo, shrimp, and other seafood and aromatic vegetables in your own home in a matter of hours. Wow your friends at your next dinner party with this beautiful family-style dish!

Once you have finished making your dish, we will dine together and say cheers to celebrate the fruits of our labor! Buen Provecho!

No experience is required! We provide all the equipment and ingredients, which are easy to find at local markets in case you wish to recreate the dish on your own after the class. Our events are casual and meant to be fun and instructive, not hardcore. This class is designed to be just as fun for the cooking enthusiast who wants to be a part of every step as it is for the first-timer who’s happier observing and assisting (or taste testing).

Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in, wearing your mask.
