Who needs takeout! It has never been so easy to prepare restaurant quality Thai dishes in your own kitchen with the abundance of fresh produce and Thai ingredients within easy reach. Escape to the streets of Thailand as we create one of the most famous Thai classics, Chicken Pad Thai! We will also have tofu available as an alternative protein option.

In this fun and hands-on class, you will be guided step-by-step in recreating this classic known for its diverse flavor profile of sweet, salty, sour and spicy. You will learn basic knife skills, how to properly prepare the traditional noodles used in this dish and build the flavor profile of an authentic Pad Thai sauce. Once you have created your masterpiece, you will then plate, garnish and devour your creations with your new found foodie friends! You will also learn how to source fresh, seasonal ingredients and specialty spices in order to recreate the perfect Pad Thai at home. Perfect for entertaining, wow your friends and family at your next dinner party with your new found signature dish!

No experience is required! We provide all the equipment and ingredients, which are easy to find at local markets if you don’t already have them in your home kitchen. Our events are casual and meant to be fun and instructive, not hardcore. This class is designed to be just as fun for the baking enthusiast who wants to be a part of every step as it is for the first-timer who’s happier observing and assisting.

You will be seated with your booking party, but will be sharing cooking stations with other guests if you are in a party of less than 4. Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in. The class location within the hotel varies based on availability, unfortunately we cannot guarantee the rooftop every class. Drinks are NOT included in the ticket price and BYOB is NOT allowed. Guests are invited to purchase drinks from the bar.

Chef Ken is a New Jersey native who made his way to Atlanta over two decades ago. While completing his study at the esteemed Savannah State University, he discovered his passion for the culinary arts and has brought his unique taste and style to kitchens across the country since. Getting his start catering private parties and events for Atlanta’s professionals and elite, Chef Ken rose to prominence in the motion picture catering industry, catering productions for Tyler Perry, Oprah Winfrey, Ava Duvernay, Jerry Bruckheimer, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and many more. With over a decade of experience in the food service industry, Chef Ken now caters events for over a dozen restaurants in the metropolitan Atlanta area, servicing some of the city’s most renowned clientele.

Luminous Gatherings Event Space is located in Sandy Springs, GA near 285, just 20 minutes from midtown Atlanta. This space is adorned with a white open concept, mirrors and exposed high ceilings. Your special event can be reimagined here to gather with your family, friends and partners. Our capacity of 80 guests seated will accommodate the most intimate occasions in this 2,000 square foot space. We have ample free parking and handicap accessibility.

Guest requirement
The nature of our classes are set up so that booking parties will work together during class, sharing both ingredients and equipment. If you are in a group of less than 4 guests, you will be asked to share your cooking station with another group. Secure your vehicle with our Valet team when you arrive, which offers 0-2 hours for $20, 2-4 hours for $30, and 4-24 hours for $38 self-parking or $45 for valet parking. The class location within the hotel varies based on availability, unfortunately we cannot guarantee the rooftop every class. Drinks are NOT included in the ticket price and BYOB is NOT allowed. Cancellation policy
Reschedule request have to be made at least 48 hours before the class for groups of less than 6 people and 14 days for groups of 6 people or more. Cancellations are not permitted and tickets are non-refundable.See terms and policy.

We had so much fun!! Our dish turned out wonderfully. The space was super cool. We enjoyed eating on the patio overlooking the city. The ingredients were super fresh. The music was fun. The bartender and her friend were very friendly and added to our experience. The class size was great! We had 8 people. One adjustment we would recommend is to teach in a more step by step fashion. The chef simply demonstrated the preparation once quite quickly and we were far behind him in the process. If we would have known that the steps would only be shown once we would have been far more attentive. However, a slower step by step with the chef moving at the same pace as the guests would be ideal for the future. We also only received one tenderloin for our dish. I would have expected more. A complimentary drink would have also been nice considering the price for the evening. Overall, we had an awesome time and hope to bring our friends and family for more events.
