Intro to Southern BBQ

Description

In this hands-on, one of a kind, two hour class learn the art of Kansas City Style Southern BBQ.

Our Expert Chef Instructor has owned a BBQ restaurant in Tennessee and can't wait to share his tricks of the trade. Class will start with a history lesson on meats, seasonings, and rubs. You will learn how to properly marinate for ideal flavor, seasoning, and tenderness. Practice your new found skills on the smoker, the way that BBQ has been done for generations. Participate in making three BBQ sauces from scratch. One will have a mustard base, the next a honey base, and finally a classic tomato base. You will learn all about consistency and taste. Your friends and family will RAVE about your BBQ in no time! Sit down and enjoy 1/2 a pound of ribs and chicken breast, as well as a tasting of sides. Bring your appetite and enthusiasm for a great class and even better meal!

No experience is required! We provide all the equipment and ingredients, which are easy to find at local markets if you don’t already have them in your home kitchen. Our events are casual and meant to be fun and instructive, not hardcore. This class is designed to be just as fun for the baking enthusiast who wants to be a part of every step as it is for the first-timer who’s happier observing and assisting.

You will be seated with your booking party and socially distanced from other guests. Guests in the same booking party will work together throughout the class by sharing ingredients and equipment. Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in, wearing your mask. Guests are welcome to BYOB (beer, wine, and champagne).
