Coconut Curry Shrimp with Coconut Rice

Description

Join us in this fun and hands-on class, taught by none other than Top Chef All-Star, Chef Eric Adjepong! Learn the secrets to making the most delicious and aromatic curry.

This is a Caribbean Coconut Curry Shrimp dish, but feel free to substitute the shrimp for chickpeas to make your meal completely plant based. This dish is also gluten free and dairy free, making it perfect for every body. Chef Eric will break down the techniques to making his Scotch Bonnet Hot Sauce, Coconut Curry Shrimp, and the perfect Coconut Rice. Learn some knife skills and how to balance flavors, while listening to some stories from Chef Eric's experiences competing, cooking in restaurants, and now judging culinary challenges on TV.

Professional cooking experience is not required and all skill levels are welcome! At the end of the class you'll be ready to sit down to the most delicious and warming meal. All you'll need is a generous pour of wine or a cocktail to enjoy with it.

Some of the essential ingredients you will need to cook along with Chef Eric include: shrimp (or chickpeas), onions, garlic, fresh thyme, green bell pepper, tomato paste, curry powder, coconut milk, chicken or veggie stock, green onions, salt, sugar, vegetable oil, lemon, scotch bonnet or habanero peppers, while balsamic or apple cider vinegar, and jasmine or basmati rice.

You will have the opportunity to engage with Chef Eric throughout using the Zoom chat box. There will also be time at the end for a formal Q&A, so you can ask him anything!
