Taking one of our most requested classes and putting a vegetarian twist on it, Chef Scott will show you how beautiful and artistic vegetarian sushi can be. Roll up your sleeves and get ready to make three delectable rolls stuffed with finger-licking fillings. We will kick off the class with a delicious peach sake fizz cocktail to set the mood, then get rolling!
In this highly interactive and hands-on class, Chef Scott will let you in on tips and tricks of making delicious sushi rolls, from preparing the perfect sushi rice, different knife skills to cut the fresh ingredients properly, and the art of rolling. On the menu is an assortment of various Vegetable Tempura Nigiri featuring zucchini, green beans, eggplant, radish, and tofu, Carrotfornia Roll, and lastly, Strawberry and Mango Roll with balsamic glaze to end on a sweet note. You will also learn how to make a special spicy mayo sauce you won't be able to stop dipping! We encourage you to let your creativity flow and try rolling with seaweed both inside and out and mix and match different ingredients to develop your own unique edition.
No experience is required! We will send you the equipment and ingredients list, which are easy to find and you may already have some of them in your home kitchen. You will need the following essential ingredients for this class: sake, peach juice (mango or pineapple works too), sparkling water, lemon or orange wedge, short or medium grained rice (sushi rice works best), seaweed nori sheets, rice vinegar, AP flour, corn starch, salt & pepper, eggs, neutral oil such as canola or vegetable, mayo (Japanese Kewpie brand is highly recommended), sriracha, soy sauce, cucumber, avocado, carrot, radish, green beans, zucchini, eggplant, tofu, and any other vegetables or plant based protein of your choice, strawberry, mango, aged balsamic or balsamic reduction. You will have an opportunity to interact with the Chef and ask questions throughout the session.
Prepare your mis-en-place and cook your rice ahead of the session, grab your drinking glasses, and get ready to join a fun virtual cooking party with fellow veggie lovers! Ticket is on a per-person basis. Please note our class time is in the Eastern Time Zone!
