Kids Summer Camp: Beginner Bread Baking

Description

Making your own bread is the best way to get your hands dirty and learn a little bit of science along the way!

Join us for this fun and hands-on baking class where your kids will learn to make and enjoy their own soft and delicious bread loaf and fresh fruit jam. Our Chef Instructor will first teach how to make the sponge and share some facts around pre-fermentation. Everyone will add their ingredients into a Ziploc bag and leave them to bubble. Ingredients will be added to the bag throughout so there's very little mess! While the dough is resting, Chef Jen will demo how to knead the dough and how to make the fruit jam. The last step is to add an egg wash to the dough before popping it in the oven to bake. Not too bad for bread in a bag!

Invite your friends and family to join you for class so you can all connect virtually and enjoy a fun event creating delicious treats together from scratch. No experience is required! You'll have the opportunity to interact with Chef Jen throughout the class and ask questions as you go.

You will receive an email with the equipment and ingredients list. However, the main ingredients required to participate along with the chef in your own kitchen include: all purpose flour, 1 sachet of rapid rise instant yeast, sugar, olive oil, salt, egg yolk, milk, berries, lemon, and maple syrup.

Measure out and prepare your ingredients ahead of the session, grab your apron, and let’s get cooking! CocuSocial Kids Summer Camp classes are ideal for kids 6 years and older. Younger kids are welcome to join, but we recommend having a parent or guardian participating in the class along with them. Safety first!

Tickets are on a per-person basis. The class times are in Eastern Time!

Great class! Chef teacher was so enthusiastic! Just a really long time (11-12:45) though for younger kids like we had so there was some breaks that they lost interest. Chef was great checking in where we were when we mentioned to slow down a little. Highly recommended though! so much fun and they got to eat their accomplishments!
