Chinese Dumplings

Description

Escape to the bustling streets of China to learn the ancient art of making authentic Chinese dumplings! Hosted by our experienced Dumpling Chef Instructor, you will have the unique opportunity to roll up your sleeves and learn this craft from an expert, appreciating the joy of Asian cooking and the ease of making your own dumplings at home!

In this hands-on and interactive class, you will be guided step-by-step through refining your knife skills, making dumpling fillings and learning the art of folding your dumpling wrappers into various traditional shapes. You will be making two types of dumplings in this class; a traditional scallion and cilantro studded chicken dumpling with a Chili Soy dipping sauce, as well as a Truffle infused Edamame dumpling that takes a step away from tradition paying homage to New York City's famous Budakan restaurant. Once you have created your masterpieces, you will then plate and devour your creations with your new found foodie friends! This class can also be adjusted to cater for vegetarian requests.
No experience is required! We provide all the equipment and ingredients, which are easy to find at local markets if you don’t already have them in your home kitchen. Our events are casual and meant to be fun and instructive, not hardcore. This class is designed to be just as fun for the cooking enthusiast who wants to be a part of every step as it is for the first-timer who’s happier observing and assisting (or taste testing). You will work with other students in groups of 2-4.

Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in, especially if you’re part of a large group. Drinks are available for purchase from the venue and are NOT included in the ticket price. Outside drinks are not allowed. 21+ only.

Had lots of fun learning about Chef Jordan and her experience in making dumplings. She made dumpling making fun and easy. And as someone who hates edamame, who knew I would love the edamame dumpling! I'm so ready to make them at home and whip up my own dumpling creations. Kudos chef!

Jordan is great chef and teacher!! Jordan is friendly and talented. I appreciated how she didn't just share the recipe but also taught us techniques to use when making the dish at home. After giving us a demonstration, she walked around and provided 1:1 assistance to anyone who needed it. The dish tasted amazing and the other people in the class were great too.

We both loved the class! The only thing I would say is that it would have been nice to have a demonstration with the instructions as you were giving them. It was hard to hear sometimes and a visual would have given us another way to understand what you were telling us to do. The dumplings tasted fantastic and we learned that making dumplings really isn't that hard!

Jordan did a great job making sure all parties in the large class knew what to do, and because of it, all of the food tasted great! We enjoyed our time and dumplings. We’ll be making them again and keeping an eye out for other classes that might be interesting to take!
