The winter season may look a little different this year, but it doesn't mean you cannot have fun and connect with your loved ones. Enjoy the best of winter by hosting a virtual cocktail party with your friends and family, no matter where you are in the world and learn to craft four different festive cocktails. After all, it's always 5pm somewhere!
One of CocuSocial's most highly rated Chef Instructors, Chef Scott will not only teach you how to create beautiful winter inspired drinks that are pleasing to the eyes with flavors to wow, but also share his helpful tips and tricks on how to create your own magical concoctions from scratch, such as home-made syrup, infusion, and fancy garnishes such as charred cinnamon stick, smoked fresh rosemary sprigs, and sugar-cured blood orange.
The mixology instructor will demonstrate each of the four cocktails on the menu: Black Sangria (Dark red wine fortified with bourbon), Wassail Away With Me...(Bourbon based and served hot), Winter Sunrise (Tequila), and Ginger Cranberry Mule (Gin). He will also showcase how to create Simple Syrup with either Honey or Agave and Lemon Ginger infusion, as well as how to charr cinnamon stick, smoke rosemary spring, and sugar cure blood orange for visually stunning presentations. If you have partners joining the class with you, consider splitting the recipes and ingredients between yourselves, this way you have a chance to taste them all! You get to choose how ambitious you'd like this class to be.
Invite your friends and family to join you for class so you can connect for a virtual cheers! No prior experience is required! You'll have the opportunity to interact with Chef Scott throughout the class and ask questions in a Q&A at the end.
You will receive an email with the equipment and ingredients list. However, we recommend having the following on hand: a small pot, small bowls or mason jars *that can handle heat (typically not tupperware for this task), 1 sheet tray (small or can use a large flat tupperware), cutting board, chef knife, kitchen towel, cocktail shaker (or glasses/cups you can use to shake and mix), fine strainer, cocktail glasses, mugs (for Wassail, we serve this hot), ICE!
The full ingredients list consists of: bourbon (Whiskey or Scotch will work if you prefer), tequila, gin (Bombay Sapphire is Chef's preference. Can be substituted for Vodka if you prefer), dark red wine (Apothic Dark or Apothic Inferno is recommended or your favorite red or merlot), vanilla bean or extract, cinnamon sticks, star anise, white granulated sugar, limes, lemons, green apple, blood orange (can be substituted for your favorite orange or whatever is available), fresh cranberries, pomegranate juice, cranberry juice, grapefruit juice (Ruby Red or Pink Grapefruit), orange juice, ginger beer (or your favorite ginger ale), apple cider (apple juice is acceptable but will yield a lot less flavor), ginger, rosemary, honey or agave. Optional: salt and tajin.
Measure out your ingredients ahead of the session and let's get mixing!
Born under the sun-drenched skies of Florida, Chef Scott has always had a passion for flavor, family, and the art of bringing people together through food. Though Florida was home for the first few years of life, it was in New York—amid the bustle of multicultural neighborhoods and iconic delis—where Chef Scott was raised and first exposed to the diversity and vibrancy ofworld cuisine. Inspired by family traditions and the melting pot of the New York culinary scene, He soon set sights on the professional kitchen. That dream led westward to California, where he trained under acclaimed chefs and refined their technique in some of the state’s most innovative kitchens. In 2018 Chef Scott launched his own culinary brand— quickly earning a loyal following and critical acclaim. Now, after years of success in California, Chef Scott is coming full circle—returning to Florida to bring his culinary vision back to where it all began. Coastal Vibes Culinary is excited to reconnect with local roots while sharing a menu that tells a story—one plate at a time.
