Fun with Focaccia

Description

Learn the art of making Focaccia bread from scratch, along with two homemade sauces for dipping.

Focaccia is Italy's infamous flatbread. Although in the North of Italy, pizza is called focaccia, the Focaccia bread that we know and love is thicker in consistency and usually dressed with olive oil, salt, herbs, and maybe some garlic.

In this class you will flex your creative muscles by experimenting with different flavor combinations to make the finished product to the best of your liking. Chef Jason will also teach you to make two different dipping sauces to enjoy with your bread. The first is a classic tomato sauce and the second is a creamy alfredo sauce.

No experience is required! You will receive an email with the equipment and ingredients list required to bake along with the chef. Here is a list of the main ingredients you'll want to have with you: all purpose flour, instant yeast, olive oil, sugar, salt, pepper, tomato puree, butter, half & half or heavy cream, and shredded cheese.

Prepare your mis-en-place ahead of the session by measuring out your ingredients (as described in the ingredients list you will receive), grab a glass of wine, and let’s get baking!

Tickets are on a per-person basis. The class times are in Eastern Time!

Jason had a great pacing and was enjoyable. We had a great time and feel we learned a lot about cooking in general. We are planning our next class.

We really enjoyed our class with Chef Jason! Not only did we have some laughs with the other participants, Chef Jason shared tips and skills to perfect certain techniques that we can use in a variety of recipes, not just the Focaccia we were making. We had a bit of an issue with our oven not cooking quite to temp but Chef Jason stayed on extra to help us troubleshoot. I highly recommend taking a course with him - we know we will be signing up for another in the future!
