An Evening in Roma: Italian Date Night

Description

Join us for an evening of authentic Roman style cooking! Learn to make a festive classic Italian meal from start to finish utilizing the flavors of Rome.

The evening starts by making a traditional Panzanella salad, the unique bread based salad that is an art form in and of itself. Next, we'll move along to the iconic pasta dish, Cacio e Pepe. This is linguine with cracked black pepper and Pecorino Romano cheese. Bellissimo! The final dish of the night is Polpette al Pomodoro, or Italian meatballs seasoned with basil. Learn the secret to making perfect Italian meatballs every time! Then we'll sit down to the delicious feast we created together. Italian wines and beer will be available for purchase to enjoy while cooking and eating your meal.

Throughout the evening you will execute both dishes from scratch with the expert guidance of our Executive Chef Instructor. No experience is required! We provide all the equipment and ingredients, which are easy to find at local markets if you don’t already have them in your home kitchen. Our events are casual and meant to be fun and instructive, not hardcore. This class is designed to be just as fun for the cooking enthusiast who wants to be a part of every step as it is for the first-timer who’s happier observing and assisting.

You will be seated with your booking party and will work together throughout the class by sharing ingredients and equipment. Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in. Drinks are available for purchase from the venue and are NOT included in the ticket price. Outside drinks are not allowed. 21+ only.

We did this as a company for team building and it was so much fun, I had to take the wife for date night. When we got home, she was looking to see when we could do it again and what class to take next. We will be back many times looking at Asian night for the noodles. Sushi night is a must for us. THANK YOU, SUSAN AND MEL, IT WAS FABULOUS!!!!!!! FROM DIANA AND RON TRUMAN

The brief moments spent with Chef Susan were amazing! In addition to being a fantastic chef, she is an excellent teacher. I learned a lot and will definitely utilize the recipes and techniques learned in the class. Thoughts and opportunities to enhance the experience: Class started quite a bit late due to some stragglers. The extra time spent waiting for the late arrivals could have been spent with introductions of the classmates. Something simple to break the ice (Name, hometown, favorite food, why are you taking this class). Printed table recipes were not as precise and specific as I would have liked. We ended up using too much of a particular ingredient in a dish, only to learn the same ingredient was needed in another dish. (Basil, and Garlic). My group ended up requesting additional ingredients for this reason - no harm, no foul. When it was time to go to the range to cook, it was very crowded, basically allowing one person from the group to actually cook. I made our team members rotate so everyone could experience cooking the meatballs and pasta. This evening event is probably better suited for couples. I Truly Enjoyed!

The food was delicious. I wish there was more of a guided instruction for cooking rather than read your recipe and go. I follow recipes at home, so it was like downloading a recipe off the internet and cooking it in someone else’s kitchen. I was hoping to learn a few new tips or techniques. Also, the meatballs should come before the pasta. You do the pasta last so put the recipes in that order, please. Was a fun night out.
