Handmade Pasta 101

Description

There’s nothing so delicious as fresh pasta, and creating it yourself.

Learn how to make a variety of different pastas including Fusilli, Garganelli, Farfalle, Agnolotti, Tagliatelle and more in this how-to class. You will learn to make a bright and balanced Pomodoro sauce to pair with your pasta. Everyone will sit down and enjoy their pasta dish at the end of class! From the dough, shapes and how to cook pasta and prepare homemade sauce, you will leave here confident you know the steps to create a pasta dinner at home!

No experience is required! We provide all the equipment and ingredients, which are easy to find at local markets if you don’t already have them in your home kitchen. Our events are casual and meant to be fun and instructive, not hardcore. This class is designed to be just as fun for the cooking enthusiast who wants to be a part of every step as it is for the first-timer who’s happier observing and assisting (or taste testing).

Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in. You will be seated with your booking party. Guests in the same booking party will work together throughout the class by sharing ingredients and equipment. Drinks are NOT included in the ticket price. Guests are invited to BYOB (beer, wine, or champagne).

Meet your chef instructor
Chef Elissa is a Johnson & Wales Graduate with 12 years in professional kitchens. Chef studied in Sorrento, Italy while completing her Bachelor's degree in Food Service Management, and fell in love with the art of pasta. A large part of her career has involved studying food/pastry traditions and cultures. She loves bringing classic traditions and techniques to modern day kitchens. She will teach you not only how to make the dough and shapes, but how to properly cook it to share with your loved ones.

Guest requirement
This class is BYOB! For those over the age of 21, beer and wine is welcome. The nature of our classes are set up so that booking parties will work together during class, sharing both ingredients and equipment. Dietary requests cannot be accommodated for public events so please reference the dietary restrictions that are met by this class. Please arrive 15 minutes early to allow time for parking and check in. To ensure the safety and enriching experience of all participants, we require children aged 14 to 17 be accompanied by a parent or guardian during our cooking classes. Classes are intended for adults 18+
Cancellation policy
Reschedule request have to be made at least 48 hours before the class for groups of less than 6 people and 14 days for groups of 6 people or more. Cancellations are not permitted and tickets are non-refundable.See terms and policy.

It was really fun and we loved our chef! The only change I would make is have more equipment to use..it was a lot of standing around waiting because 6 of us were using one pasta roller.

Found this class through The Juice newsletter so this was our first experience with CocuSocial. Elissa was prepared, engaged, ensured participants at all tables had any help they needed. We left with extra pasta to take home for another meal and prepared to make pasta on our own next time. Would definitely take another class from her.

Really enjoyed the evening! There were too many participants for one group and the equipment available. I understand the incentives to have large groups, but there is a ratio of number of participants to enjoyment of experience that should be recognized. Otherwise, we look forward to seeing this chef again, in a more controlled environment.

My girlfriend and I have been wanting to learn how to make pasta from scratch but wasn’t sure where to start. We saw classes ranging from the intro 101 class to pesto pasta. We decided to go with the 101 class to start with the basics and we definitely made the right decision! Elissa provided us with a great introduction to pasta making (hence the 101) and she was such an amazing teacher! She was very knowledgeable and attentive to everyone in the class! 10 out 10 would recommend! We will be booking another class with Elissa in the future!
