Traditional Asian Dumplings

Description
Treat yourself to a tour throughout Asia with this delicious experience in the Origin and making of the traditional Asian Dumpling!

The three types of dumpling are Mandu, of Korean origin, Siu Mai, of Japanese origin, and Gyoza, of Chinese origin - you'll have the opportunity to learn all three folding techniques! Your chef instructor will teach you one recipe for the Chicken/Veggie Dumpling and one recipe for the Vegan Dumpling and will explain the slight difference in the preparation of the filling as it relates to each country. Knife safety and skills will be demonstrated and each guest will have an opportunity during the ingredient preparation to use a Chef’s Knife and a Paring Knife. Once all of your dumplings are steamed to perfection and your dipping sauce is complete, you'll be able to enjoy them with your fellow foodie friends!

No experience is required! We provide all the equipment and ingredients, which are easy to find at local markets if you don’t already have them in your home kitchen. Our events are casual and meant to be fun and instructive, not hardcore. This class is designed to be just as fun for the cooking enthusiast who wants to be a part of every step as it is for the first-timer who’s happier observing and assisting (or taste testing).

Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in, especially if you’re part of a large group. Guests will work in groups throughout the class, sharing equipment and ingredients. Outside drinks are not allowed. Drinks are available for purchase from the venue and are NOT included in the ticket price. 21+ only.

Daniel was very entertaining during our class. Yes he could have stood in front of the class and gave out instructions, but he through in a few jokes here and there. He did a fantastic job of making sure everyone felt informed and having fun.

Daniel was great and very informative! He had a lot of tips and tricks for safety and prepping before and while we were cooking but he also gave everyone room to work on their own pace and skill level while he just came around and gave pointers. It was a nice balance and we had a great time!
