Learn the art of making French Beignets (Donuts) to rival the infamous Cafe Du Monde in New Orleans! Join Chef Michele from her Cape Code kitchen and she teaches you the frying method to give your donuts the perfect consistency.
You will learn the process of working with the dough from the kneading stage to the proving stage. Then you will roll out your dough into small "beignet buns" or square shapes before frying. Finish off your fried dough with a generous amount of powdered sugar and serve with Chef Michele's caramel sauce, which you will also learn to make from scratch during class.
You will receive an email with the equipment and ingredients list. However, the main ingredients required to participate along with the chef include: dry or instant yeast, butter, granulated sugar, egg, salt, all purpose flour, powdered sugar, deep frying oil (cotton seed, peanut, or vegetable), brown sugar, and cream.
Prepare your mis-en-place ahead of the session by measuring out all of your ingredients as per the recipe, and let’s get baking together!
