New York Style Bagels

Description

If you've spent time in NYC we're willing to bet that one of the most memorable moments you had was eating a bagel. New York Bagels are just simply the best!

Join Chef Jason in his Manhattan kitchen as he teaches you the secret to making your own bagels at home. Follow the process of making the dough, which you will do several times throughout class so you'll be an expert bagel maker in no time! Learn the recipe for three different types of bagels: plain, cumin & cheddar, and raisin. Each will be paired with it's own cream cheese spread, which you will also make along with the chef.

Invite your friends and family to join you for class so you can connect virtually and enjoy a fun afternoon creating something from scratch, together. Kids are welcome to cook along! No experience is required! You'll have the opportunity to interact with Chef Jason throughout the class.

You will receive an email with the equipment and ingredients list. However, the main ingredients required to participate along with the chef in your own kitchen include: all purpose flour, baking soda, granulated sugar, salt, active dry yeast, vegetable oil, raisins, cream cheese, cheddar cheese, blue cheese, tahini, chili powder or cumin, onion, avocado, lime juice, and honey.

Measure out your ingredients ahead of the session, grab a glass of your favorite drink, and let’s get baking!

Tickets are on a per-person basis. Please note our class times are in Eastern Time Zone!

The class was great, and Chef Rice was very attentive and patient. It would help to have his newest recipe to refer to while taking the class though.

Jason led the class with a calm style. He seems experienced as a chef, and answered questions clearly. He had some trouble with the instructions sent to the participants, because the pdf was an old version, not the one he uses now. He was able to explain the discrepancies. Our bagels turned out well and were delicious.

I had a really good time, and I was pleased to learn the techniques that I did. Jason did a good job of building a mini-community of learners, and it appeared we were all successful! My feedback is more directed toward Cocusocial because the recipe was not correct, and since I had pre-measured, it was a bit of a pain. If the organization could make sure that the recipe write-up is accurate, it would help. Great experience though, and I would do another class.
