French Macaron Class

Description

Learn to make French macarons to rival Ladurée.

In this fun and hands-on class, you’ll learn tips and techniques for making delectable macarons, easy enough to be done in your home kitchen. Together we'll demystify the making of these highly sought-after meringue-based sandwich cookies. You’ll be guided step-by-step through the meringue mixing (macaronage), piping, baking, assembling and of course, the eating! Plus we’ll explore a few yummy flavor and filling variations. Macarons are delicate confections made with almond flour.

No experience is required! We provide all the equipment and ingredients, which are easy to find at local markets if you don’t already have them in your home kitchen. Our events are casual and meant to be fun and instructive, not hardcore. This class is designed to be just as fun for the baking enthusiast who wants to be a part of every step as it is for the first-timer who’s happier observing and assisting (or taste testing). You will work with other students in groups of 3-4.

Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in, especially if you’re part of a large group. This class is BYOB!

Smaller class size would be more ideal to have Chef Cregg be a little more hands-on. Class was much longer than advertised. Class should be $40 max. Amazing instructor! :)

We absolutely LOVED Cregg and had a blast in the class. I think the only thing I would say was the class seemed WAY too big. There were 26 of us and it seemed like it was hard to ask questions when you needed to all the time. He did a good job of managing it but I think it would be better if the class was AT LEAST half the size.

Great atmosphere and chef. Our macarons were far from perfect, but we learned a lot in the process! Would definitely recommend in the future.
