Living and working on the Outer Cape, Chef Michele developed a love for many seafood dishes, but her favorite is Paella. This versatile dish can be made with many of the locally sourced ingredients from land and sea, and of course the basics of savory chorizo pork sausage blended with smoky paprika and even a dash of saffron. On any beautiful summer evening, you will find her enjoying a glass of wine as the fragrance of Paella on the grill fills the air and brings family and friends together for a beautiful feast. We will be cooking and dining outdoors together during class, too! It's the perfect way to enjoy a summer evening on the Cape.
In this class you will master the basics of creating a traditional Spanish Paella. You will unlock the basics of Paella and also get details on substituting various ingredients to make your own custom creation for your family and friends. In addition to your main meal, learn to make a beautiful and seasonal salad du jour using whatever ingredients are fresh that week at the farmers' market.
No experience is required! We provide all the equipment and ingredients, which are easy to find at local markets if you don’t already have them in your home kitchen. Our events are casual and meant to be fun, relaxing and instructive, not hardcore. This class is designed to be just as fun for the cooking enthusiast who wants to be a part of every step as it is for the first-timer who’s happier observing and assisting.
Please note that class will be hosted outdoors at Chef Michele's home with ample space to social distance booking parties from one another. Chef Michele is also maintaining a sanitized space, for your safety, as per CDC guidelines. Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in and get comfortable, wearing your mask. Guests are welcome to BYOB.
Chef Michele is a certified Culinarian and certified Wine and Spirits expert, having extensive experience as a Pastry Chef and Prep Chef. She received her Certified Culinarian and Prochef Certification from the Culinary Institute of America. Additionally, Chef Michele is a Wine Steward and Sommelier, receiving her Certified Wine and Spirits Expert Level 3 from the Wine & Spirits Education Trust (WSET). In addition to these accolades, Chef Michele is a successful business owner and operator, having experience with several internet sales and services businesses. Chef Michele enjoys elegant entertaining, fishing, Cape Cod beach life and creating new and exciting culinary treats! She also thrives on sharing her culinary and wine knowledge with all!
