Chinese Dumplings

Description

Discover the flavor-packed world of dumplings!

Master the basics of dumpling wrapping in different shapes including twisted, half-moon, rose buds, and pleated gyoza style. You’ll get a chance to work with high-quality store-bought dumpling wrappers. You’ll also get to practice your knife skills and learn how to make two different fillings of Shrimp, pork & chive and vegetables consisting of tofu, spinach, mushrooms, bamboo shoots, and ginger. Find out about our favorite resources in San Francisco for sourcing ingredients and basic equipment for dumpling making at home.

No experience is required! We provide all the equipment and ingredients, which are easy to find at local markets if you don’t already have them in your home kitchen. Our events are casual and meant to be fun and instructive, not hardcore. This class is designed to be just as fun for the cooking enthusiast who wants to be a part of every step as it is for the first-timer who’s happier observing and assisting (or taste testing). You will work with other students in groups of 2-4.

Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in, especially if you’re part of a large group. Drinks are available for purchase from the venue and are NOT included in the ticket price. Outside drinks are not allowed. 21+ only.

The cooking instructor, Leenah is very friendly and professional. Even though I already know how to make dumplings but I still learned some techniques and knowledge from her. I also like her veggie recipe for the dumplings

We enjoyed the experience overall... fun couples evening. And very yummy! Some things you could improve: hard to see the demonstrations of actually folding the dumplings. This could be helped if the lighting were brighter, or maybe just a spotlight where the demonstration is. Having a diagram for each table showing the various folds would also be helpful.

Huong (Leenah) was an amazing host & teacher during our dumpling making class. Her passion for both cooking & teaching is evident and it was truly inspiring. Her dumpling recipe was also really good & healthy that I already have it printed and planned out as a future meal! Thank you Huong!!!
