A special invitation to Chef Jonathan's cozy home where he will share the secret of foraging and incorporating wild ingredients into your cooking!
Guests will discover the pleasure of making simple yet luxurious risotto from scratch using arborio rice, wild mushrooms expertly foraged by Chef Jonathan, white wine, quality parmesan cheese, and plenty of fresh cream and butter. You will also gain an insight into how to utilize the leftover risotto and turn it into crispy and satisfying arancini - fried rice balls stuffed with various ingredients.
But wait! No meal is complete without the sweet! Little else says “Italian” like a good ladyfinger cookie. In the class you’ll learn how to make them soft and sponge-like in the center and a little crisp on the outside. An absolute crowd pleaser as appetizer or snack.
No experience is required! We provide all the equipment and ingredients, which are easy to find at local markets in case you wish to recreate the dish on your own after the class. Our events are casual and meant to be fun and instructive, not hardcore. This class is designed to be just as fun for the cooking enthusiast who wants to be a part of every step as it is for the first-timer who’s happier observing and assisting (or taste testing). While risotto is gluten-free, arancini traditionally involve flour. Please let us know ahead of time as soon as possible if you would like to request gluten free-option.
